Coneflowers in the Garden

I love Echinacea or Coneflowers as many people call them… I actually have several colors but mostly the most common pink/lavender shade… This week a plant paint challenge shared a photo to be painted and I couldn’t help but snap photos of mine and add an element of my flowers and garden path to the painting…

Though I'm not a tea fan... I do like to sip hot tea out of little cups in some restaurants...

This painting is inspired by three photos... the tea pot is an art challenge... the cups and flowers from two different online images...

Cake… Mocktail… Colored Pencils

Mashed three photos together… eating cake… drinking a mocktail or cocktail and drawing on the paper topped table with colored pencils…

Give kids crayons to keep them busy in a restaurant… ADULTS TOO… I used to love to scribble on the big sheets of white butcher paper… FUN!

Cafe Creme Moroccan Teacup and Saucer

TINY pottery paint challenge… why not add a fun teacup to show just how tiny the vase is in the photo prompt…

The teacup and saucer set I found was plain… sooooo I looked around my studio for a pattern and why not Moroccan…

Floral Arrangement Interior Decor

I don’t really care for floral arrangements in my house… nice quality fake flowers: yes… BUT I prefer flowers in nature… probably because I hate when they die… if you want to give me flowers—make sure I can plant them in my garden after they’re done blooming… I’m going to imagine this arrangement is faux and they will live in this room forever or until the owners desire a new bouquet…

Hmmmm… do you see a WARHOL vibe??? That’s what I was told… All I know is that these sneakers were a bit difficult to sketch… BUT I LOVE an ART CHALLENGE…

Oranges

Orange you going to ask me what art supplies I used to create this art challenge… silly me… I couldn’t resist… and of course I’m going to tell you about this painting… it’s mainly colored pencils… only the background color and shadowing is watercolor…

Lots of colors… shades to blend together… I’m trying to figure how to do it successfully… I’m happy with my recent attempts on this painting and two others. I have a lot to learn… I’m always learning!

Is it wrong to drink coffee out of a tea cup?

I LOVE the look of cups and saucers... I just don't care for tea... I really really liked it when I was a young girl... I would order tea, half a grapefruit and toast for breakfast... I don't know when I stopped liking tea... hmmm

Groovy Days

This paint challenge brought a smile to my face... ohhhhhh the 70s... lava lamps... flower child... hippie mom... daisies... peace signs... and great music... I can hear great songs moving with the flowing lava...

Funny thing... I never had a lava lamp but I bought them for my boys' bedrooms when they were young... 

Good times!!!

 

Ready for Coffee

I really love painting different mugs… of course my love of coffee makes it soooo appealing… 

The photo prompt for this art challenge actually had two options… One mug with one background and a mug and small pitcher  with another background. As  you can see above, I opted for the mug solo but I used the background for two items. I’m glad the challenges I participate in allow for your own interpretation…
