Sketches to Paintings...

Last week I showed you HANDPAINTED bookmarks by moi... however... I never showed you the back of the bookmarks... soooooooooo... here are the sketches... I like to take a portion of the bookmark painting and enlarge it...

and then paint it and seal it with varnish... it's like getting TWO ORIGINAL Fifi Flowers paintings for the price of ONE... some bookmarks are STILL AVAILABLE... CLICK HERE to see which ones... and try to figure out which of these belongs to each full painting!!!
This weekend I worked on this sketch...and painted ("Girls at a Cafe" 6.75" x 7.25" is available HERE) it to be used as an advertisement for a company I do marketing and graphic design...and last but not least... Fifi sketches her FABULOUS friend Petunia...and then painted her... I do soooo hope Petunia loves her portrait!

I hope you ENJOY seeing my sketches turned into paintings and all the blue throughout! Please be sure to visit more BLUE posts via Blue Monday posts over at Smiling Sal's and METAMORPHOSIS posts via Metamorphosis Monday posts over at Susan's!!!

This week Fifi will be posting Tuesday through Friday!!! THERE WILL BE PAINTINGS too... Be sure come back and visit... YOU never know when YOUR photo may end up on Fifi's blog!!!

ENJOY your week!

Dearest Fifi:

It was so lovely to see you this week! Isn't it just amazing how quickly a Leer can reunite BFF's? Oh, Fifi, what fun it was for me to sit for you. So many have wanted to see me in all the places I go on the Internet now but I have been hesitant to put my photo up. So many recognize me now and the thought of more recognizing me sends my head into a spin. It would be all too much! Although, your portrait of me is so life like, I am afraid it may all come to that anyway.

The reviews of me have been rave, Fifi! Although one person, who I shall not name because this month I am being a lady...didn't you notice while we were together I only told you a few things about a few people instead of everything I know?... made a heartless comment about my crown not being in place and even insinuated I may have had a few too many sips of something! I explained that that was all done on purpose so that I would appear to be one of the many and not so removed and perfect. I think it did the job just perfectly! I might have also said that I expected a comment like that coming from someone so common. Did this person not notice that I did not wear any jewels at my ears or on my fingers? I was dressed down for goodness sakes! So many are going for that that look these days thanks to Bernie and a problem with finding jobs or some such thing.

This month I have found that it is very hard work to be a lady all the time and boy did it feel good to zing one back at Tinsley! Thank goodness the month is almost up. I have scars on my tongue from all the biting I have had to do. Oh, did I just say her name? Oops!

Oh, Fifi, your talent knows no boundaries! I imagine so many will want what I have so you better get your brushes in order! I imagine you will need to unlist your work number in order to manage all the requests and not be constantly interrupted by an annoying ringing phone. I have no idea how one does business with an unlisted number but I am sure you will figure that out.

As soon as I can pry my self away from Sergio...yes, he is back for a spell and just as spectacular as ever... we must plan a little trip someplace lovely. I was thinking a beach vacation on the French Rivera might be just what I need after my exhausting month of good behavior!

Sincerely,
Petunia who knows that her trained eye tells her that Fifi's talent is much greater than Matisse's and that old dead artists are not as fun as living BFF's!

Oooooh Petunia... soooo lovely to hear from YOU!!! Glad you like the portrait.... soooo kind of you to sit for moi long enough for moi to snap a photo... Good thing I did since there was no keeping you still for long... I know you love to speak to your audience.
Oooooh the Fench Rivera sounds DIVINE... I will have to plan that... we missed out on Fashion week together... le sigh... let's not do the same again!

Dearest Fifi:

I was desolate for days during fashion week. Going to all the shows without you was absolutely no fun and to be quite hinest, the models were hideous this year. I carried with me at all times a bag of hamburgers. I was sure they were going to pass out and die from starvation on those catwalks! Fifi, you know I do try to do my part at everything I attend.

I am so thrilled you want to join me on the Riveria! I think I will have a sip of something right now to celebrate!

Sincerely,
Petunia who will be sure to be single for a spin through France!

Dear Fifi,
It was soooo very wonderful to hear from Petunia and I agree with her, that the painting you have done of her, will simply make you want to pull your phone out of the wall from so many orders. I dare say, I see a bit of you in the painting but then bff's are a reflection of each other, aren't they.
Petunia, you do chart your own course and we have yet to hear of your "true" adventures...one as chic as you are, will never have to prove what lies within...and we live our excitement through what you dare to do and we only dream of.
Such a good time today...fun

Dearest Fifi:

I have been as mad as a hat maker on 5th Avenue! Well, not that kind of mad, of course but certainly the kind of mad that makes me want to kick cats! My lovely portrait created by you is not showing up at all the places I visit! As all the requests and disappointments flooded my inbox, I asked Sergio if he could either fix the situation or kill my computer. What a love, he chose to fix it!

As would be proper, It will appear here first! Although, I has just dawned on me that I will not know for sure that he found the solution until you do what you need to do and I show up here in print. Please hope that it works, Fifi! There may be a tragic death here if it doesn't.

Sincerely,
Petunia who hopes cats have been saved and her computer will live!

Ooooh what a relief the cats of NYC and your computer are SAFE!!! You have finally appeared to the masses!!! It is a SERGIO-miracle! Perhaps you should keep him around after all... but ban him from the French Rivera! Girls just want to have FUN!!!

Dearest Fifi:

Oh! There I am! Oh, Fifi, the day will be perfect now!

I have already informed Sergio that I will be doing a bit of traveling alone in the days ahead. He was, of course, quite crushed by this news but when I told him I would be spending some of the time with you, he seemed somewhat relieved. I think he thinks I get into less fun when I am with you but we both know that couldn't be further from the truth! He did suggest that next month be the month I practice only thinking about him. I told him after I return from my travels I would give that some thought. There are too many delights in France to limit myself so completely!

Sincerely,
Petunia who will now thank Sergio properly for all his fabulous help!
