Traveling along with a Paintbrush...

Yesterday I told you my car may metamorphosis into a bug... wellllll... to tell you the truth... Fifi is VERY fond of bugs... in her 20s Fifi could be seen driving around in her baby blue convertible Volkswagen bug... here she is... and here she is in front of it... and here is all she has left... a minature version on her bookcase for NOW... (Fifi is thinking once the kids both can drive... a VW Bug would be PERFECT for her AGAIN!!!)and the ability to paint one... this is a RED version of the photo I showed yesterday... a few readers said they'd like to see me paint it RED... sooooo here it is (painting is available)...

Speaking of paintings... here is a project I just completed recently... here is the photo I received to paint... along with a few others of close up flower shots... Here is the painting in the process...
as you can see flowers BLOOMED and wine appeared in the painting...
and the finish product...
LOVE PAINTING!!! What project do YOU have for moi? FAB time to start thinking about UNIQUE holiday gifts... what is better than a CUSTOM PAINTING!!!!

Coming up tomorrow... Fifi will off and about looking for adventure... BUT there will be a FAB post right here on my blog... FRENCH TIMES for you when Claire takes you on a FRENCH tour in Atlanta!!!

Once you see her post... maybe YOU will agree to be a guest blogger for me!!! Email moi!!! ENJOY!

Fifi,

I too had a convertible V.W. when I was in my twenties, it was very cool and it looked like an old fashion english pram. Very wide spoilers and very fat tyres. I know that sounds revolting, but it was actually very beautiful. I drove it to Vogue every day and carried all my props in it. One day I had a complete photoshoot of many flowers piled high in my car. A site to behold driving through the city of Sydney... Oh the memories...

Until it started leaking too much oil and anyone could follow me anywhere around the city by following the oil trail.

I wish I had some photos to show you.

Lots of hugs,

xx Coty

Oh FiFi!
I so love the post. Love the blue bug, that was a popular color. Love it in red tho. I love red. Moma has a metalic blue with little glitteries in the paint that she drives. Just loves it. They are such fun. I love the painting of the garden area. You do the most beautiful work that I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing this beautiful morning. Please stop by and say hi. I would so love to have you visit. Country hugs, Sherry

Happy Tuesday Fifi! Love the RED bug! I had a blue Mini Cooper a few years back and sold it when I wanted to purchase a new home without any car debt. Drats...I miss Madeleine. That's what I called her! :) I'm sure you'll have your blue bug again in the future! The paintings of the garden in process is lovely, but then again.....it's your gift to create gorgeous art! Let me know if you hear back from Jeanne Smith once you send the package to Charleston. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! :) ~AuRevoir ... ~CC Catherine

Fifi, that was really cool to see the progression of your painting. I love how your eye sees the details from the photo to your painting. My friend had a VW Bug when we were teens and we all loved tooling around in it. ~ Robyn

My first car was a 1966 bug!! You had a convertible... Oh I'm so jealous!! One of these days I'm getting a new convertible bug. Love the paintings. I just moved the painting you did of my house in our family room so I can see it everyday. I still love it!

I love bugs too, Fifi!! And it's so funny... I had a blue bug when I was in university (in my 30s actually) and - like you - all I have now is a matching toy version on my shelf!! We're die-hard beetle fans, I guess! I want another one!

This is very strange. I read all your blogs and I missed this one some how. boo hiss. and it was a great post too. Love the blue bug. and the painting. You fit that blue VW to a T. :)I love the first part of Foul play where Goldie Hawn is driving along the coast in San Francisco driving a yellow VW bug with Barry Manilow singing, Ready to take a chance again.... My favorite opening scene of a movie. Very romantic.
