Ooooh another contest - maybe I'll be the lucky one this time!
The best gift ever... hmmm... must be the time I helped paint my brother and sister-in-laws giant flat. It took us weeks but it was so much fun (involving loud music and lot's of 'after-parties'). They gave me a pair of simple and beautiful pearl earrings as a thank you gift. I almost cried. I'm much better at giving than receiving gifts...

My most special gift has kind of a long story associated with it but I will give the condensed version!

Three Christmases ago my husband gave me a bezeled-set diamond necklace. The diamond had been his father's (who had passed away the previous April). I had no idea my sweet hubby had taken the loose diamond to the jeweler's to have it set. Besides my wedding/engagement rings, it is the most precious thing I wear.

Congratulations on 100 oh-so-inspiring posts! I have just added you to my blog list (I have been meaning to do so for some time now) and am pleased to correspond with such a talented West Coast gal! :)

Happy 100 posts!!!
The best gift I ever received was a huge surprise...
I found myself pregnant the old fashioned way, after having had my twins with assisted reproduction. The twins were only 16 months old when I realized what had happened, and the shock eventually gave way to reveal the best gift ever... a beautiful baby boy!

I love contests and you know I love your bookmarks!!! My best gift was a mug, painted by George Clooney (a self portrait) for charity. It's not an original but from a series and it was given to me by my BFF who knew that I would love having coffee with George every morning!

Congrats on your 100th post!

The best gift ever...hmmmm...my daughter did a painting for me of our two dogs, one had passed away the year before, and it was a beautiful painting of the two of them (two dachshunds). I cried. It was a Christmas present.

Love all of your work!
Hugs,

What a fun blog!

One of the best gifts I ever got was an outfit from a seamstress. We met at the fabric store, chose a pattern, fabric, etc. Then I went to her house for fittings. When it was all done (very cute outfit!), I handed her a sealed envelope from my dh (who'd arranged the entire thing). To this day, I don't know how much the gift cost. :)

Congrats on your 100th post!!! I can tell you've put in some hard work here! I think the best gift I ever received was a framed cross-stitch piece from my grandmother. I told her I wanted it when I was 5 and she gave it to me when I moved into my home! I had forgotten all about it!

Love your paintings, you are so talented!

Congrats on 100th post. I love love your blog and paintings. I love the pink lime cafe book mark.
I have had many great gifts thru the years but I think it was getting our Dog Annie. She was one of the neighbors puppies, a pure bred red and white Border Collie. I fell in love with her from birth. She really stood out to me. She was meant for their son who wouldnt have been a good dog owner. They knew it too and knew how much I loved her and almost 8 weeks to the day on Xmas day we came home to find a fake Border collie sitting on our front porch and card saying to bring it over in exchange for the real Annie. They had talked their Son out of keeping her as he traveled to much & was never home, so they GAVE her to us. I was so happy I cried. She has been the best gift ever that keeps giving...it's been 3 1/2 years of joy so far.

For my birthday, I got a puppy many years ago. That was the sweetest gift because the puppy became the sweetest dog.

Congratulations and THANKS! 100 Posts!
Best gift I have received? Well, I have had many best gifts, depends on the time, the moment, the dream, the need... but this keeps on coming to my mind as I think about it, so I'll share it with you: my two daughters, now adults, at ages 6 and 9, waking me up with excitment and reciting a poem written by them for Mother's day. Delightful little choir, graceful little bodies, love, sheer love.
