At The Cafe...

Dearest Fifi,

Last night we waited for you at the aux tours de notre dame...

and you never showed! There was rumors that you were having a randevú with Romain Duris and if so we forgive you!

Let me tell you what you missed out on so you can be très jaloux....The food was très magnifique! We shared beef_bourguignon ...

pommes frites...
quiche....
Seared Foie Gras with Spiced Pears....
but we passed on the escargots....
After that you would think we could eat no more, but seeing the belles pâtisseries.... we couldn't resist the temptation of crepes.....
and creme brulee...
and how could we not partake of a bottle of Veuve Clicquot... and toast to you....
We waited until dark for you, but the lights of Paris called to us and I snapped this parting shot to remember our evening of celebration.... You were missed ami doux!

xoxo,
rue

Dearest Rue...
You are sooooo right... I was having a rendezvous with Romain Duris sitting outside in another cafe not far from you...
however it is not what you think... and it is quite top secret... Fifi is working on a SCREENPLAY for a romantic comedy... I am interested in using a foreign actor... not sure if I want a Frenchman or an Englishman like Orlando Bloom...
so naturally I thought it best to meet with different foreign actors while staying in Europa... more details about the screenplay will be out in the near future now that the cat is out of the bag! Now everyone knows why they have been seeing moi VIRTUALLY at many cafes around Paris with such beautiful men... oooh it has been quite a job!
Ooooh it does look like I missed out on a divine meal and ooooh my favorite champagne! I do sooooooooooo LOVE all the cafes around France... I recently painted a few more of them (available in my ETSY SHOP)... I now have a collection of Frameable Notecards ready for sale in My Etsy Store...
BUT FIRST... how about a GIVEAWAY... leave a comment (and be sure to leave your email address if you don't have a blog) and you could WIN a set of my NEW French Cafe Collection of Frameable Notecards! Deadline Sunday @ noon PDT... 3 Winners announced on Monday, April 27 post!
AGAIN... Thank you for filling in for me today... I'm sure Susan and her Tablescape Thursday people loved your post... they too have some wonderful post... you can visit them HERE.
Andddddd... I am soooo sorry I missed you... perhaps we will meet back in the states... I will be returning May 2nd. Rue, ENJOY the rest of your stay in VIRTUAL Paris!

Your missing in action friend...

I read this post using my best French accent in your voice, Madame Rue.... (Is it possible to do that?) That virtual food just made my hips spread by 2 inches, by the way. It is lucky for Miss Fifi that she missed it, too- if she is watching her weight... After all, she has other agendas... Perhaps she will allow me to be entered in her give-away? Adieu, mon ami...

This was just divine! Love that Rue could take a little evening off from getting Annie's room together. Just amazing the stamina you possess, Rue! And Fifi - what a tremendously exhausting job you have before you of having to select the appropriate male to star in your romantic comedy. Please know that I am available to assist you in this endeavor, should you feel overwhelmed. Oh, the demands of your fame!!!

Fifi,

I'm sorry you missed out with Rue and the others for your divine dinner....but duty calls...having been in similiar situations, I can certainly sympathize with how you must be feeling... all the decisions that come with the selection of a leading man for your new and upcoming movie. Ah...what a life you live Fifi.

Well that selfish Rue! Didn't she at least pack up some of that lovely food into doggy bags and save for you? (Poodle bags?) She could have at least saved the escargot for moi.

I always smile when I click on your blog, knowing I'm going to be charmed. And I am never disappointed. Your paintings are fantastic!

All the best... Cass

Madame Fifi,
J'adore vos cartes postales !
