Day 12 - Delicious Apple... Dessert

Apples with caramel sauce and ice cream was mentioned in my house by my son... hmmm... apple turnovers said hubby... what do we have? Crescent rolls, apples, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and cream cheese... Baked Yum! was how it turned out...

I don't like how my painted apple turned out... but I like the composition idea...

Day 11 - Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Fashion

New season of Mrs. Maisel is streaming... they have such FUN fashions... 

 

I remember the old days: TWA airlines and when people got dressed up to travel on planes...

I never know what will catch my attention... spark my interest and getting me sketching...

Day 10 - In the Pathway Flowers

My front garden is growing wild and flowers are popping up in my pathways... so pretty... I'm so happy we removed our front lawn and did a whimsical garden to attract butterflies, birds, bees, and more... look how cute these flowers are...

I couldn't wait to paint this photo... and tonight was the right night to paint them in my journal...

I LOVE the way they turned out... anddddd I'm sure that I will find many more points of interest around my garden to paint in the future.

Day 9 - Jazz Jazz Matisse

Today's post reflects my love of music... my love of the artist Henri Matisse's artwork... my love of my cat named Monsieur Matisse...

Day 8 - Coffee is a definite must!

All day I worked in my studio on my computer to setup blank art cards, art calendars and a coloring style booklet: Paint with Fifi Flowers...

Andddddd all the while COFFEE was a constant staple at my side...

Tomorrow I will be back in my studio working on my painting/coloring booklet... really excited about it... hopefully I can figure it all out... fingers crossed it is relatively easy... and I will be blogging a new journal posting too...

Day 7 - Tiffany Roses at the Wire

I almost didn't make the deadline... close to midnight... I should call these flowers Midnight Roses... not quite... so I'll call them by their name: Tiffany Roses... gifted to me... and hubby too because we got married in the Tiffany Room at the Downtown Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel...

I don't think I did them justice... soooo gorgeous in my garden... but I did my best... wish these photos were better too... the color isn't great photographing art with night lighting... oh well, I had to post within the day.

What will tomorrow bring?

I'm not sure BUT I will be painting first thing in the morning!

Day 6 - Spring Shoes

Late night post... I couldn't give up on my 365 day challenge so after spending the day with family I brought out my travel paints and sketching equipment... What to paint? I thought about cute bunnies since it is Easter. But looking at my swollen ankles... shoes popped into my head...

Not shoes I wore or even own but I do LOVE a cute pair of flats... Looking at this image I decided to give my version of these shoes a spring color scheme...

Inspiration comes from so many places: simple every day things like shoes

Day 5 - On My Balcony: Surprise! Two!

A couple weeks ago two mourning doves were building a nest on my balcony... I wasn't sure about letting them but I gave in and they selected one of my small terra cotta planters to build their nest... and when they switched parenting (papa daytime watch and mama nighttime watch) one day I was able to see one tiny egg...

About two weeks later I saw wiggling under papa... and witnessed feeding time beaks. Two beaks! Surprise! Two babies! They grew so fast... a week later I was able to snap a photo of the squabs or chicks while mama flew away and before papa arrived with breakfast...

Today (a week later) I heard a commotion and opened my blinds to see the nest only was occupied by one baby bird... oh no I thought but then I saw the other one sitting on my lounge chair... Relief! It wasn't long before I heard more fluttering and my cat clucking (I don't what else to call his sound)... the sole nest dweller had joined its sibling and the two pecked at each and walked around on the balcony floor before settling close to each...

It was an easy decision for my blog post today: day 5 of my paint journal... and I began to sketch... Sooooo cute these two... I will miss the experience when they fly away BUT I will be happy to have my balcony back now that the weather is getting nicer!

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday... What will inspire me to paint? 

Maybe something festive... or maybe something totally different... hmmmm

Day 4 - Cheers! Good Friday!

Cheers to the Holiday Weekend... my inspiration was from a Ballard Design photo on Instagram... warmer weather calls for yummy refreshing beverages!!!

Cocktail or Mocktail... here's to Happy Days!

It's my first weekend of journaling... Maybe I will paint outdoors...
