Dearest Fifi:
When I received your missive about your very sudden and unusual desire to go camping my first thoughts were to get sedatives in you immediately, phone for a reservation at one of those rejuvenating getaway places where the staff speak in whispers or to jump in my jet and fly straight away to you and find out for myself what all that silliness was about.
Of course, I flew to you, Fifi. I feared the worst had happened as a result of your love of borrowing pretty painted pictures off very important walls...although, let me state here, I have never really believed you have done any of those things you have been accused of but, on the off chance you might have done one or all of them, I want you to know I do not judge. Running from hot men in uniforms who carry big guns is the most fun I ever have every year!
Oh, Fifi. The look on your face as I burst into your bedroom was so lovely. You looked perfectly surprised in the most happiest of ways then for a moment you thought I was in trouble! I understand why you might have that as your immediate second thought. How many times I have burst through that door only to need to hide under your bed for a few days?
But there you were in that simply lovely gown looking this way and that at yourself in the mirror and asking if I thought it would be a good dress to take camping. I was so relieved to know it was not the kind of camping I hand in mind! Bugs, snakes, dirt, all that fresh air. Just frightful. All of it.
We did have a lovely time of it, didn't we Fifi? Two bff's out in the forest, far far away from civilization with a support staff of 9 to take care of us! Wasn't it fabulous that so many of our friends were willing to drive out of the city to come to our party? Of course, a thirty minute drive from the city is not very far and of course everyone wanted to see me camping. I think many people don't think I can survive outside of a castle or something. But I showed them they were wrong.
The spa day you planned was best day out there. I had never had my nails done under the stars before. I was quite surprised to see that the stars are so much bigger and brighter in the forest. It must because there no electricity and the added light is helpful.
I have rented a villa for us in Provence next week. Please say you'll join me!
Sincerely,
Petunia who has decided that “roughing it” isn't so rough at all!
LE CAMPING VU SOUS CET ANGLE me paraît plutôt sympathique, surtout avec une coupe de champagne... Bisous
Ps : Pétunia, j'arrive en Provence si vous voulez!
Fifi,
I wish you loved me as much as Petunia!! I want to on a camping trip like this, with staff galore, gourmet meals and and down pillows!
Come and join my Giveaway from Blydesign!

Now that is what I call camping too! Beautiful.
I'm with you, girl! My memories as an only child of camping with my parents are Dad being off fishing somewhere, Mom walking around with a sponge constantly wiping everything down, and me desparately clinging to my Seventeen magazine all weekend...I was seven! The only thing worse was when Dad's brother would bring his family, too. They had three boys! Eeeek!

I don't like camping either, but this could work. Pink champagne would be a plus.
My usual idea of "roughing it" is having a hotel room instead of a suite. My comforts are important to me.
Happy Pink Saturday, dear Fifi.
This is one swell teepee. I love it.
I wish I could build one in my yard.
Yes, Fifi, bien sur, I will go Glamping with you!

I am not a camper either, but might consider one like this. These styles will never be suitable for me. On a young person, they will look great.
Mrs. Porter does not ever wish to sleep in ANYTHING that zips or ties!
xo Darling...
i wanna go.
but come over and collect your award at my place
xxxx
Oh my...that is certainly THE way to camp, especially after a nice long hike to come back to some freshly popped and poured bubbly and some steaks on the grill!
xo
That is the only way you would catch me out in the woods. I don't do dirt, tents or pop ups. I need a daily shower and of course a toilet, I don't dig holes either. What a way to go Fifi......lovely way to spend the night under the stars. Happy Pink Saturday, Char
Now THAT's the kind of camping I believe in!
