the Côte d’Azur’s cosmopolitan capital.
On the first trip we took the train, arriving at the train station Garede Nice. Like all other things the hotel was within walking distance. We would make our way down to the polished pebbled beach and rent parasoled lounges for the day...
... or we would stroll along The Promenade that stretches for miles along the Mediterranean sea and Nice's elegant roadway that is lined with chic hotels, boutiques and restaurants...
... and of course we would congregate, sipping lots of Café au laits and cocktails in the old town. The next time we went by car, so we could drive the winding roads like Grace Kelly and Gary Grant in To Catch a Thief...
... and enjoy the breathtaking views from the village of Èze. Sweet memories of the past...
... that make me want to board a plane and go back. Perhaps a few nights at the Carlton in Cannes!

I really enjoyed your post today. Your creativity knows no bounds. Your photos are paintings are grand. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Maya... you evoked such fond memories for me! My grandmother lived in the hills of Cannes and I summered there every summer of my youth... My mother and I would pack our bags, hop on the plane and summer in France. Nothing was as wonderful! I went to Bijou Plage every day. (It's still there!) I took swim lessons and met and befriended many French children. I took tennis lessons at Montfleury where there was an olympic sized pool with a glass retractable roof. So cool! We'd often drive to Monaco for dinner... I sure was a lucky little girl! Thanks for introducing me to this site!
Great post....your pictures bring a smile to my face and that warms my heart!! Always a pleasure..thank you!! xOxO
Nice is a gorgeous city. We too love to stroll on the Promenade and their market in the old section is one of the best in France. We've been away too long. Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures Fifi.

i love this post !!
Hi Fifi
I loved your telling about your travels.
I and my wife often go there and we love Nice. We're from the UK and we're well travelled. We have two apartments in Vieux Nice.
There's a fresh (uncooked) and cooked seafood platter minutes away at Torinino's fabulous seafood restaurant close to Garibaldi in Vieux Nice. We love to people watch there eating lunch as Place Garibaldi is packed with people making their way into the narrow streets, or alleys should I call them, in the Old Town/Vieux Nice.
You can wander to Le Port (it's a five-minute walk) and see the superyachts and megayachts anchored at Port Lympia, with Quai Lunel running past Pointe de Rauba-Capéu to the sea.
We have competitive rates for the two, one-bed apartments, beautifully and tastefully decorated. The two apartments/flats have separate doors to each and we let them out individually or as a two bedroom unit. We are able to do this as they are each self-contained. The one was purchased about in 2008 and the other was in 2013. You and others are welcome to see our site https://uk.pinterest.com/ianrobinson9655/vieux-nice-france-apartments/
There are many more appetizing and delectable pics there as well and you can see the inside of the apartments. We regularly stay there and let them out as well.
Cheers, Ian Robinson
