Le Havre is a city in northwestern
France situated on the right bank of the mouth of the
Seine River as it outlets into the
Bay of the Seine in the
English Channel.

It is a commune in the
Seine-Maritime department in the
Haute-Normandie region. The inhabitants of the city are called Havrais or Havraises. It is the most populous commune in the Haute-Normandie region and the largest sub-prefecture in France. It is also a bishop's
see.Le Havre is also used in the sense of "port". The city was first called Franciscopolis, in homage to King
Francis I, who took the initiative to construct the city, in addition to Le Havre (or Le Hable) de Grâce, the latter term being derived from the chapel Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, which existed on the site before the city's founding. The city was also dubbed the Porte Océane, or Door to the Ocean. Architecturally, this image has been revived through the "door" that forms the frame at either end of Fochs Avenue, which comes out of the sea. In population, Le Havre ranks second of the French ports, first of the cities in Normandy, and ranks second in the metro areas of Haute-Normandie. (via Wikipedia)...

Love your paintings, Fifi. Where will you be going next?
Great post, I enjoyed the pictures and the paintings by Raoul Dufy, very colorful! I also enjoyed your painting. The fashions were fun, I especially liked the pink hat! Ooh la la! I live on the East Coast in NJ and have a shop in a quaint village of shops. You can check it out on my blog, if you wish...

Bon Voyage Fifi! Thank you for sharing your travels through France with us! I think I enjoyed it as much as you did!
Fifi, you are killing me. I entered the port of Le Havre on my first visit to France as a child. So many memories...
The dress is to die. I'm in Boston, just moved from the DC burbs. What can I tell you?
Unabashedly unashamed to say, "pick me me mE ME Me, me!" I like your painting more than Dufy's!
Love Raoul Dufy's paintings..., the two images are so different in style. And before I read the text I thought the one that inspired you was in fact yours!
Bonjour Fifi. Thank you for yet another virtual vacacion! Claude Monet is my favorite painter and, after I decided he was my favorite, I learned he and I were born on the same day. Might you share the same birthday with one of your favorite artists?! As always, the fashions you featured are fantastique. My favorite is the black and white with just a dab of lemon yellow.
Have a great weekend!
~Arleen

Three of my nieces are headed to France on Monday, and I'm green with envy! Thanks for the tour, and I'd love to win one of your paintings!
I'm sure if Dufy was still around he would be complimented that you chose that picture to paint. I could use that swimsuit for the beach along the French coastline, and the pink suit with hat (especially the hat!!!) for shopping!!!
Fab rug you included in your painting Ms. Fifi :D Perhaps one day I will convince you to paint a sexy frenchman ON a persian rug. Now that would be divine ;)
Thank you for the lovely 10 days in Paris. Just love that b&w dress - its such a Zooly dress.
Well, you already know I am loving all of this pink. But, I must tell you that I love that black, white and yellow gown. Stunning.
