Umbrellas are Not always for Rain...

Look at these Fascinating Umbrella Installations via Crooked Brains ...
I know this one is not outdoors... but I couldn't resist it...

Another one not exactly outdoors... but you can see outdoors via glass ceiling...

I think these umbrellas are my favorite...

HOWEVER... I actually saw this next installation in person... CHRISTO's YELLOW UMBRELLA along the Interstate 5 in California...

There I am standing under the umbrella... you can tell they are quite large... my car fit under it too...One of the umbrellas up close and personal...viewed while picnicing underneath... Fifi and Hubby(then bf with a BAD haircut... sorry dahling... ohhhhh I wish I still had those abs... le sigh!)... anyhooooo... it was a romantic!
Umbrellas are quite ROMANTIC... look at these paintings... Proposal on a bridge in NYC with a blue Tiffany box (original ON HOLD... PRINT available)...Ooooh la la the Paris proposal...
Maybe no proposal... just running off to elope... with the dog as the best man...But for moi... I like this image... "My dearest Fifi... please marry me and I promise to always be by your side as you paint beauty into our life..." LOLOLOLOL... (I know dear it was not the exact proposal... but this is my blog)
Do you have a romantic umbrella story? If not, grab an umbrella and make one or make one up! All of these umbrella paintings and more are AVAILABLE in My Etsy Shop!
Andddddd don't forget to visit other OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY delights via Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer... ENJOY!!!

What a wonderful array of fantastic umbrellas. My favourite umbrella story is Mary Poppins' umbrella with the talking duck handle! And my favourite umbrella scene is the east wind blowing all the stern governesses from Cherry Lane away, vainly clutching their umbrellas! Mmm, next week I leave for Paris - the real thing!

Dear Fifi,
What an awesome post.....there is some insurance company that has the coolest commericial about a big red umbrella that protects you and at one point he turns it upside down and they float across the lake in the red umbrella...
I love these pictures soooo very much
hope you are having a wonderful anniversary
hugs

Gosh dear Fifi, that's the most subdued work of Christo's I've ever seen! Love you 2 Love-Birds, & yes, those abs were pretty awesome girl.

No romantic umbrella stories here unfortunately, as MOTH is 14 inches taller than me & we have never been able to do the umbrella thing together without me getting soaked to the skin. So separate umbrellas for us sadly.

Who knew you could do so much with umbrellas? I loved the white ones with the lights. Very creative.

Hey was that the same Christo that wrapped the islands around Key Biscayne Fla in pink? We have a signed poster of those. That was some great art. What an artist...

I don't have a romantic story, but I am attracted to umbrellas, though I don't use them too much. I'm intrigued by them so much that I bought several pretty models just so I can display them in my entryway and use them during especially rainy days, lol :)

I love umbrellas and if I am to make up a romantic story, it would be where I am by myself at a bus stop waiting for the next bus in the pouring rain and my knight in shining armor drives by, stops abruptly, gets out in the rain, and gets under my umbrella, looks into my eyes, tells me he can't believe he's finally found me, his dream girl then whisks me off to the nearest Jared's to design my engagement ring... In reality, my own proposal was on a bright July day with our music and at a lovely park and a fast food dinner to go -I had to work! It was actually quite romantic...

Thanks for sharing your pics!

Happy OW!

Fifi, this is such a cute post!

Once, when I was younger and a very thin magpie, I got caught in a gust of wind with my father's umbrella, and it drug me half way down the street. I thought I might become Mary Poppins! LOL!

Loved ALL of your umbrellas. They are wonderful... your paintings and the ones in the pics.

Happy OW...

Hi Fifi! I've never seen anything like this, and truly love it! The umbrellas floating in the air with the lights and on the trees as leaves... it's all so fabulous! I never saw that yellow umbrella installation, but how fun is that?! I love how you had a picnic underneath it! So you!
Your paintings, as always, are wonderful! I especially love the last one.

My almost 5 year old son said "OMG, OMG, OMG" all through your post. LOVE it all. I love the first photo for true originality. Unbrellas mounted on a building. What not... Off to preschool and gotta grab my umbrella today. I will be looking at all umbrellas differently today.
Merci,

Cute photo of you and your husband.

I have a Chantell Thomas brolly that I bought in a little French shop, over here.
With a clock face and a pair of sexy legs for the hands of the clock.

Love your painting of the Proposal on the bridge and the Tiffany box.
