Mmmmmm, ice cream!! There really aren't any fashionable places for ice cream around here -- does Dairy Queen count?! ;-)

My favourite ice creams have cookie dough or brownie pieces. I don't like ice cream with nuts and I'm not big on fruit-flavoued ice cream.

The ice cream bench is cute :-)

Hi Fifi,

Your post this week is lovely.
I love that icecream parlour, so inviting. My favourite icecream would have to be boysenberry or hokey pokey or a lemon gelato.

Tell me though, I would not think those pretty models would indulge in much of that icecream.

Enjoy your weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

I love me some ice cream, can't get enough. But as I age, my body doesn't like it as much, (hips, thighs, ect). I worked at the cutest Ice Cream parlor growing up. It was wonderful to make your own concoctions with everything at you fingertips.....

i love gelato too, i have fond memories of the gelato trucks when I lived in Italy and would go to Rome.

Yummy posting!
My favorite ice cream memory is a vacation in Devon, England (famous for its cream and therefore we had to try some local ice cream.) Boyfriend and I purchased a large tub before it occurred to us that, as we were staying in a bed and breakfast, we would have to eat the whole lot right away. What a tough day that was!!

I love that first pic - pink walls, cute chairs!

The most fashionable icecream place I've ever been is Sloane's in West Palm Beach. The bathrooms have clear glass doors that turn opaque when you lock them! It's definitely a fun place to grab a scoop!

Seriously who doesn't love ice cream!! Yum. Can you believe I've never had gelato.

Oh isn't that model from American's next top model? If not she looks just like one of the girls!

It all looks tempting, delicious and oh, so good.

I love the pink ice cream truck. Now, wouldn't that be fun to have drive down your street?!!

Gelato...do you know that was invented during Renaissance by an Italian and brought to France by Caterina de' Medici, for her wedding to King Henry (it was called then "flavoured ice with sugar" and was sort of a sorbet). Another Italian added soon after to the recipe some eggs and invented a machine to move the ingredients around a cilinder full of ice...Ahhh!!! those Italians...!!!

This is a great post, Fifi! I didn't know about this theme day. I will have to remember next week.

My favorite ice cream is vanilla or chocolate. I am really boring. My favorite is Lucerne Sugar Free Low Carb Ice Cream Bars. I eat them around 3:00 a.m. by the light of the fridge. I am not kidding...smears of chocolate have been found on my pillowcase!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I thought I had commented on here yesterday but guess I didnt. I remember as a teenager seeing a movie with Debbie Reynolds & Andy Griffith in it.. Can't remember the name, but it was set in the 1800s, They had an ice cream parlor with chairs and tables similar to the first photo that I fell in love with & wanted to own and its carried over to this day. Also wanted the umbrella she carried too. Fab post. Ice cream screams summer anywhere. :)

Hmmm maybe I'd lose weight if I had to wear those heels to eat ice cream. I'm not sure my feet could take it so my belly would have to go without. Not a bad idea!

Laura @ the shorehouse. said...

How cute is that pink truck?!?! I would be completely content driving that around the shore town selling ice cream (so long as it was air conditioned for the comfort of moi. ;-)
