I love SJP's dress for sure and Anne and Cate looked totally fab!! BUT did you see Posh on the red carpet at Elton John's after party? She looked FIERCE! I not a big fan of hers but that girl knows how to work it!

funny - on AOL they said SJP was the ugliest dress of the night, also Tomei's was another one. I loved both of those!!!

The painting of the dresses is gorgeous. I think Kate W's was my favorite. I'd wear that dress...

I love this painting Fifi! People think you have to paint in a full face, but the way you have gestured it instead is so great!

My vote is for Kate W. empitomy of class that one...

I think SJP's dress would have been nicer on someone with a smaller bosom. Otherwise, I agree with the choices. I like simple elegance.

Everyone looked beautiful Sunday evening!!! My top dress isn't in the top "5", Penelope takes my vote. A very close second was Kate JBC she's my favourite!!!

Love you painting, it's LOVELY!!!

I love Kate Winslet's dress the most. I apologize to SJP's fans but unfortunately she looked a bit too much like an "oldish" bride to me! Fantastic painting, Fifi. Ciao. A.

I loved them all but loved Natalie Portmans pink gown best.

I am so glad to hear you say that....she took so much heat for that dress and I LOVED it...it is so her style and looked lovely....

Honestly I did not care for Angelina's look, those HUGE green earrings did nothing for me.

Natalie Portman was another fave of mine.

Fifi, what did you think of the job Hugh Jackman did ??? I loved it...not Billy Crystal he's my fave host, but I loved the dancing etc....

Fun post,
Kathy :)

I didn't enjoy SJP dress, a little heavy on merangue for me. I think Anne Hathaway and Kate Winslet looked amazing.

I think more stars should consider their colouring when they pick a dress. Some of them in the skin coloured dresses looked too washed out in my opinion.

Love your rendering!

And I agree with all but Kate W . . .

My fave was Penelope C!

Kate's was one of my favorites, with Natalie's a very close second. And I have to say, I love your site and your work. It's such a sunny spot, and the style always makes me smile. Thanks for the little uplift while I'm stuck at work!

Oh talented one - I'm loving your beeeoootiful paintings from the other side of the world! Thought everyone played it very safe this year - while I love beauty as much as the next gal, I do so love it when someone takes a risk & pulls it off!

I loved Heidi Klum's red number, thought she looked awesome!
As for Sophia, Tilda, Reece, Goldie & Meryl - what were you thinking!

I really loved Kate Winslet's dress but didn't like her hair. SJP's dress was a little to princess like for me...

My favorite was not on a young actress. It was that fabulous slinky red satin dress worn by the short film producer? When she turned, you saw the back split open with a tan lining. Just a flawless design!

P.S. Checking on that Eiffel ring for you!

Oh, they're all gorgeous. But I think Natalie Portman's is my favorite! :)

Natalie Portman. her dress is very pretty.

I loved Anne's and Kate's... but Anne's was my favorite. I wasn't too crazy about SJP's... I hate to say this, but the skirt made me think of vintage prom...

I LOVVVEEE your illustration of the top five!! It's awesome. I'd have to say Kate and Penelope kind of rocked my world, but they always do so I'm a little biased. I read a funny quote from Kate's daughter...who hated her dress..."Mummy, I need to talk to you about the dress — it was gray." HA! :-)
