Little did I know that this drab, depressing blue sample painting would be so appropriate for the mood in our home today... sadly, one of our dogs is going to be put to sleep... we've had her since my son was two...
We were only getting one puppy, but we couldn't leave her sister behind...
They have been very close all through the 11 and 1/2 years we've had them...
I only introduced them to all of you a few weeks ago... 
And now our precious Molly Madison will live in our hearts forever...
She will be missed!

Hi Fifi! I was going to say Happy Winter right back at ya but I see it isn't a happy day for you. I'm sorry you had to do this, especially now! I know when I found my dear beagle had passed on in the back yard it was very upsetting after 13yrs with us; so I do know how sad you are right now! Feel better dear! What a great life you have given your canine children...I'm sure you will be sad for a while...my kids lost their dog a few years back, and it was almost harder than when they lost a grandparent.
They are certainly part of our families.
I did the same thing with kitties; took two instead of one...big hearts! :)

Oh Fifi, I am so sorry to hear this. They become one of the family as dear as your children. What a lovely thing you did tho taking them both together as puppies. My neighbor lost her two dogs within a month of each other earlier this year even tho they were not well it still was a sad loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I am now going to go hug my sweet Annie.

oh my heart breaks for you!!! as a fellow cocker spaniel lover and owner, it broke my heart when i had to put down pippin (i got her when i was three and she lived to 18 years). there is not a day that goes by that i don't miss her!!! *HUGS*
Sorry to learn about your pet. I had a cocker spaniel when I was little called Mini. It was heartbreaking when I lost him. Know how you feel. Try to have a good Christmas in spite of it all.

Oh noooo!! My heart hurts for you. I've had Maggie (our old lady adopted dog) for not even two years and she's part of our family. I can't imagine how your family feels having virtually grown up with Molly.

I am so sorry, we had to do the same a few months ago. It is devistating.

I just ready your post about sweet Molly. I really sorry... It is really hard to lose a pet. We had 2 at one time and when our one passed away Kelly (lakeland terrier), my love and I were all in mourning. It took Kelly a couple of weeks to eat and not have accidents in the house. We were told her behavior was normal, because Buddy (welsh terrier) was the leader of the two and she followed him when he ate, drank and went outside.
