Pretty in Pink...

Ever since I saw this photo on the Dolce Chic site... And painted this... I have been thinking about putting together a PINK post... What does PINK mean? For the answer... I went to the first blogger to ever show my art work and she just happens to be Expert Colour Consultant Just Imagine ... Here is her exact answer...
Oooooooooooh you’ll be sorry…………………
Pink is sugar sweet or it can be bold or racy!!!

Pink is a psychologically powerful colour!
It is the colour of calm confidence, even it’s more dramatic tones it is full of reassurance and always a constant positive energy.
It’s deliciously warm; a natural choice for babies rooms and fulfills the dreamy fairy tale romance and glamour for little princesses.
Pink can create a diverse range of décor styles from pretty and gentle to deep and sensuous and even exotic and spicy!!!!
Being a tint of red, it soothes rather than stimulates.
I have some interesting trivia on the colour pink……………
It has been used in jails “drunk tank pink” to calm violent prisoners. It is difficult for a person to be aggressive or angry in the presence of pink……..the heart muscles can’t race fast enough. It is a tranquilizing colour……even the colour blind are affected by pink. Although pink does have these affects….it is for the short term.
In the old old old old days the preferred colour to dress young boys was pink!!! Blue was for girls as it was considered the paler and more dainty of the too!!!
Is this what you were after??????? cos I can probably keep going on and on and on and on when it comes to colour.

Merci Beaucoup... Your answers and photos were JUST what I hoped for or IMAGINED!
I would like to add to your list by saying that many associate the colour PINK with breast cancer... and the little pink ribbon...

Speaking of pink ribbons and breast cancer... this wonderful event began and October 1 st... a virtual walk... something we bloggers can do together... we may not see each other in person... but we can see each other here...

Thank you for featuring the photo! I obtained that photo from Project Ecoart, (http://projectecoart.blogspot.com) who inspired me with this gorgeous piece! I'm not sure where she originally obtained the photo, but I know it inspired her, and thankfully she passed this inspiration onto me! Great post on such an important topic!

LOVE the pink painting and pink anything. I painted our bedroom pink. It was the first thing we painted. I wanted warmth and happy feelings since Oregon can be foggy and rainy alot. I havent tired of it in five years yet and my husband doesnt mind it at all. I also used black and cream toile with it. I used alot of Raspberry, Yellows and Reds in the house too.
Will check out that walk.

Love your pink dresser painting and the virtual walk idea! For years I steered clear of pink because as a redheaded child I was told it was not for me and much better suited to my blonde sister... Now I know it's just about finding the right pink and there's even one for redheads! :o)
