Love Paris...

Intrigued by Coco Chanel... image via

Named my black cat ... may she rest in peace... Coco Chanel...

Coco as a kitten with her brother... named Spatz after one of Coco Chanel's "friends"... in my artbox...

Welllll... recently I was asked if I would paint illustrations for an e-book of Coco Chanel quotes... of course I said OUI!

Here are my illustrations... they are going to be used as a background/frame... but I think they came out so cute... too sad to not see the whole illustration... so these designs are NOW in
MY ETSY STORE (20% off on SPECIAL SUMMER PRICES UNTIL FRIDAY, AUGUST 15th... you MUST email me to receive 20% OFF) as notecards. As soon as the e-book is completed... I will furnish you all with a link in my sidebar... stay tuned...
I think I feel like a French week... hummmm... what will I paint next... not sure... but I am SURE I will be watching Shirley Maclaine as Coco Chanel... Will you be watching? Are you a Chanel fan?

What a neat project! I can't wait to see the finished project!
In case you haven't heard, a movie about Coco Chanel will be premiering on Lifetime next month. I'm totaling planning on DVRing it!
I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet beautiful Coco. We lost our solid black kitty (Magic) of 18 years this past year and it's just not the same without him.
Well Fifi, I don't have any idea what you're going to paint next either. But one thing I know for sure... It is going to be a masterpiece and I'm already looking forward to a peak.
I love your art box- very cute! (makes me wish I was an artist to have a box like that!)
Lovely as always...such talent.
Fabulous idea turning those into notecards! I would love a cat named Coco-just so I could say "Coco" all day. Oh, and she would totally rock the pearl collar too!
These are fabulous! I've been seeing the ads for the Lifetime movie, too, and am looking forward to seeing Shirley MacLaine's performance as Coco.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Love the store front painting!
Maybe some bridges over the Seine next?

That is so neat - what a fun project to work on! Congrats!
What a fun project you have going. You are so good at doing those illustrations. This will be great. You will give us the link when the e book is done!?
I too am looking forward to that TV movie on Coco Chanel with Shirley Maclaine. Who isnt a fan of hers? What magic she seemed to have in designing..anything.
PS.. sorry about the loss of that beautiful cat too. A pearl collar would have been perfect on her. :))
Thank you for visiting, You have a lovely blog, your artwork is full of life and energy. I will visit again to check out your next project.

I'd be thrilled if you turned my photos into paintings! Can't wait to see what you'll come up with...

What a fun project! PS I think your cat Coco is in kitty heaven with my cat Coco. They are probably admiring each others' collars!
Coco and her brother Spatz have been gone for awhile... yet it seems like yesterday... the photo of them was back in the early 90s when I was in art school.
Robin... what a lovely vision... Spatz must be there protecting them... don't want anyone to steal those pearl collars!
I can't wait to see it all!
i adore chanel. i am sorry about the paper hermes kelly. yeah, the real thing is always better and less efforts, uh.... have a savvy day!
Your illustrations are always so lovely. You use of line and color are fabulous!

Oh, this is just so fun and glorious to look at ! My dog is named Coco (Chanel of course)...pics of the dogs coming soon so that you may work your magic!
How exciting that you're doing the illustrations for a Coco Chanel book! I love Coco. I wrote an article about her for Kiki magazine earlier this year that was a lot of fun, and the post I did about her apartment on Rue Cambon continues to be popular all these months later. She has a lot of fans out there! -Julia
