Bird of Paradise... I photographed this in my neighbor's garden...  you can see it is just starting to bloom...
According to the book "The Meaning of Flowers" by Gretchen Scoble & Ann Field... Bird of Paradise also known as Strelitzia Reginae... and in Asia it is known as "the crane lily for its shape, which resembles a folded paper crane."  The flower is native to South Africa... "suggests that something STRANGE and WONDERFUL is about to occur." For moi... it inspires PAINTING... that are turned into an invitation design...
envelope artwork...
Bird of Paradise paper...

paper cut to be an envelope liner...
I will be showing you more of these flower invitation designs as I continue my flower series throughout the year... hope you ENJOY it! Please be sure to visit other Outdoor Wednesday posts via A Southern Daydreamer!  See YOU tomorrow... I've BOOKED us a table!
